Mat (Maad) made with Gunga (Pandanus Spiralis), using a coiling process. The coiling technique is a new process introduced around the missionary era. In this technique a bundle of fibre forms the foundation core, which is wrapped with a strand that is looped through the wrapping of the previous row. The Gunga is coloured with natural bush dyes.
