My name is Dorothy Dhukurrru Bidingal My language is Ritharrgu and my clan group is Yirritja. My mother and father are Dhawuluwul and Ngalandirr. I am bangaditjan and my moiety is Yirritja. (The worldview of all Australian Aborigines is divided into two halves called moieties. The Yolngu people call the two moieties of their worldview Dhuwa and Yirritja.) My totem is (Wurrpan) emu and (Guwak) drongo. I learned weaving by watching my mother and my two sisters Maradhuwarr and Bambalarra. I go hunting to collect pandanus and dyes and I collect all types of dyes. I like weaving baskets and I can weave mats too.
