Nellie Guyula grew up at Dhoynji, a homeland in remote East Arnhem Land known for producing renowned fibre artists. She learnt to weave there from artists Janet Guyula and Joanne Yindiri, part of a strong cohort of weavers who all live out at the homeland.

Nellie is a mother and a hardworking artist. She produces woven shapes that are out of the ordinary, her own expression of traditional form.
