Ancestral Shark – Djambarrpuyngu

This story is of the ancestral shark Bul’manydji after it was butchered in the saltwater country at Garrata. The shark has been dismembered with its head and liver still intact. The liver represents the future generations of the Djambarrpuynu (Dhamarrandji) clan. The miny’tji (sacred clan design)  represent the  saltwater mixed with blood and fat. This songline connects many of the Dhuwa clans through East Arnhemland
