Mokuy (Spiritfigure)

Dhanbul spirit figures (Mokuy) are associated with Baṉumbirr (morning star). Dhuwa clans like Djapu, Rirratjingu, Galpu and Ngaymil/Dhatiwuy sing the morning star songlines. In creation times the spirits would gather together to prepare for ceremony, they would make the morning star poles showing the connections of the different clan groups and the land.  When Yolngu pass away their spirit follows the Dhanbul, back to the east towards Burralku, the land of the spirits.
