There is a story that people tell about the mudflats near the mangroves. Menḏa was living there without a care in the world, happy and content. One day Miyapunu (Turtle) turned up and said, "I like this country, I'm taking over, its going to be mine from now on.' Menḏa thought, 'I know what to do!' He gathered all his mob together and instructed them to shit all over the area. This became the mudflats and it was to much for turtle and he left, for good.
