Bulman is a traditional weapon and ceremonial item used by Yolŋu. As a weapon it is used to throw spears and gives the hunter an extended arm for more leverage and power. In the ceremonial context most men will carry a Bulman to use for various purposes including dancing and as a statement of who they are. Men generally make their own Bulman with their own style and patterns.
